Terry Cummings started in the music business in the early 1980’s while at the beginning of an 18 year career in the National Basketball Association. He formed a company with his then partner and cousin, Percy Bady called “Dream Song Productions”. It was formed out of California and existed from 1982 to 1985. At the time, Terry wrote songs for various Gospel artists, where the” Thompson community singers” were among them. And over the years, the publishing company would cover and own the rights to songs that they wrote by artists such as Michael McDonald, Whitney Houston, the Winans, BB and CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, and many, many more.

By 1985, Terry had moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he would form what would now be known as “Cummings Entertainment Group LLC” as he still worked in the area of artist publishing, protecting the rights of solo artists he knew and writers from the labels. It is here he makes his first profits of his own in the business of music. Later in 1987, he comes to build relationships that catapulted him into the front line of the music business via Black Entertainment Television where he then starts by writing music for some of the television shows such as “Live in LA”, “Story Porch”, and many others.

Terry began to look more toward the music business as a love and joy of something he cherishes doing. He began writing his own projects and writing for other artists securing a place of respectability amongst those in the industry. Terry has managed and cultivated Cummings Entertainment Group, along with Terry Cummings Publishing Company for 41 years. It is accompanied by a great library of songs of all types and genres that he’s been meticulously building on for years now in preparation for the future. Terry is looking to lead his companies, shining the light of love towards artistry, production, publishing, and the business of residuals and royalties with television and film.

Terry has five music projects that he has produced and developed out of his relationship and thoughts on Love: “Nothing is What it Seems”, “TC Finally”, “Live, Love, and Laugh”, “Black Love”, and recently released project, “The Journey of Love”. Cummings Entertainment Group, or CEG, as it is affectionately called, is a company on the rise looking to serve those who have the very same heart to change this world through love. Terry is a believer in the words of Marvin Gaye,”War is not the answer, only love can conquer hate”.
